THE RINGERS The tower Captain, Ken Webb, and his wife, Pauline, are experienced ringers. Most of the rest of our small band are Millennium ringers taught by Ken from 1999 onwards. We practise regularly on Monday nights from 7.30pm to 9pm. Visitors are always welcome although it is advisable to check with Ken first (or ring 01249 760682) We also ring for services on three of the four Sundays each month:
Since 2000 we have been ringing in the New year, click here to see the band just after ringing in 2003. In addition to Ken and Pauline Webb the following have joined the band at Hilmarton since it was formed in 1999: Dave Bainbridge, Sue Cowell, Juanita Davy, Rebecca Foley, John Henly, Elaine Leighton, Gillian Money-Kyrle, Priscilla Moxey, John Smith and Pete Joel (who sadly died suddenly just before Christmas 2003 and is greatly missed by all his fellow bell ringers). At the end of summer 2004 we were also joined by Doug Miller who has been making rapid progress. Recent teaching of new recruits has been helped by the installation of a simulator. |
