Minimum system:

Any Model Control System requires at least:

  • One controller
  • One module
  • One power link
  • Two link wires
  • One regulated 12 volt supply

The module and controller must be of compatible types.

Typical system:

A system capable of controlling:

  • 4 solenoid type points motors,
  • 2 servos (radio control type),
  • 2 signals, each with 3 lights (i.e. a total of 6 lights) and
  • 1 speed controlled motor

would require:

  • Four CD points modules
  • Two dual points controllers
  • Two servo modules
  • Two servo controllers
  • One 8 output module
  • One 8 output controller
  • One motor module
  • One motor controller
  • One power link (assuming a total power consumption of less than 1 amp)
  • Fourteen link wires
  • One regulated 12 volt supply

In each case, all the modules and controllers are connected in a chain, joined by link wires.
