General:
All controllers, modules and power links are supplied as fully assembled circuit boards requiring mounting on the model baseboard or a control panel. Modules and controllers all measure 8cm by 4.5cm and power links measure 3.8cm by 4.5cm.

Mounting the units:
All circuit boards are drilled with 3 mm holes. In many cases these pass close to, or through, the circuit board tracks. Care must the taken to prevent these tracks being short circuited, either to other tracks or to conductive parts on the model layout. This can the achieved by using nylon nuts and bolts as mountings or by mounting the units on a non-conducting base (e.g. wood). The 8 output and motor controllers are fitted with slide switches that can be fixed to a control panel with M2 screws.

Size limits:
The maximum allowable distance between ends of the model control system depends on installation conditions and surrounding equipment. Under ideal conditions up to 20 metres should be obtainable reliably but this may be reduced by electrical interference from adjacent equipment or by ancillaries attached to the model control system itself. Long cable runs between the power link and any high current modules will result in a voltage drop in the cables and this will affect performance. In this case, either split the system using two or more type 1 power links with high current cables joining them, or place the power link as near to the high current modules as possible.
